I was born in Salem, Ma, "witch city". My neighbor was a very famous witch named Laurie Cabot. I remember looking across the alley through her window, seeing a circle of people wearing black, holding hands in some kind of ritual. The room was lit with a red light and candles. Whenever we ran into Laurie on the street she wore a long black cape and had black "Robert Smith" hair. And this was the 1970's! She often complimented me on my toy lamb that I dragged behind me, and she was always very kind. Now she charges a hundred bucks for a private tarot reading. Wowza. I'm in the wrong business.
While I lived on Derby Street there was a shoot for an episode of "Bewitched" down the street at the House of Seven Gables. I remember the huge crowd waiting for a glimpse of Elizabeth Montgomery. My parents put me on their shoulders so I could see. As a young blonde girl I was mistaken several times that day for Tabitha! So cool. You can still visit the House of Seven Gables, why not try a fun road trip to Salem, there's a LOT to do. | | TRIVIA: Whenever Samantha's cousin Serena appeared on the show, the credits for the episode listed the actress as "Pandora Spocks". This was Elizabeth Montgomery's idea as an inside joke. Also- Endora is possibly the coolest character! |
